Sue has been the Head of School at Victoria Road Primary School since January 2023. She has worked in education for nearly thirty years, starting her career in another of the Trust schools, Underwood West Academy in Crewe. She has also completed her NPQH and is currently working on her NPQSENCO following taking on the additional role of SENCO at her current school.

During her time in education, she has had a variety of roles including being a member of SLT, Phase Lead, Senior Mental Health Lead and lead subjects across the whole school in Maths, Computing, Art, Music, PSHE & RSHE to name a few.

Sue has also taught across all primary phases including Nursery and enjoys seeing the children flourish over the years. She has also been a parent Governor at her own child’s school in the past and completed her AAT Level 3 in Accounting which gives her a greater understanding of the school finances.

In addition, she is an experienced Associate Tutor and Visiting Lecturer for Chester University and Manchester Metropolitan University where she has supported aspiring teachers to develop their skills and understanding of primary education including EYFS.

Sue has a keen interest in developing the mental health and wellbeing of the children and staff and working alongside parents/carers and agencies, including young carers, to ensure their school experiences are positive and supportive whatever their circumstances.

In her spare time, she likes to go hiking and has completed the three peaks (not in one go!) to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. She also enjoys exploring new places and travelling to different countries when she gets the opportunities.
