Lisa joined the Trust in September 2022 and is the governance specialist for Aspire and a non-practising solicitor. Lisa's background is in Law and after studying at Sheffield University she qualified as a solicitor in 2006. Lisa then spent the first 8 years of her career as a commercial litigator working at firms in Preston and Chester, where she was the Head of the Litigation team. 

In 2014, Lisa made the move to the public sector and Local Authority governance working as a CiLCA qualified Town Clerk for Knutsford and Middlewich Town Councils. In 2022, Lisa made the move to school governance and, after a short spell working at Cheshire East Council, Lisa joined Aspire and hasn't looked back since! 

Lisa's varied and well qualified background provides our Members Board, Trust  Board and all our Academy LAC Boards, with high quality governance advice and support. Lisa also works alongside our Assistant CEO, Steve Wheeldon in writing and delivering bespoke training course on all areas of Governance to over 200 volunteer Governors, Trustees and Members. 

Lisa likes to stay up to date with all things governance and also volunteers as a Parent governor in her sons' maintained school, so really does understand governance from all angles.
