Julie initially began her career working in the clothing industry, more latterly working in International Logistics. After a career change, Julie worked primarily in Y6 classes in the East Midlands. On relocating to the North West, Julie worked for 7 years as a Y6/KS2 Phase lead at Dean Oaks Primary in Wilmslow, and enjoyed a range of additional roles such as EAL Hub Supervisor, Community Cohesion Lead, Pupil Premium Lead and Acting SENDco; she became Vice Principal there in 2014. The school joined the Aspire Educational Trust in 2016 and became known as The Wilmslow Academy. Since then, with the support of the Trust, Julie has become Head of School at The Wilmslow Academy and currently leads on mathematics and metacognition. In addition to her school-based role, Julie is proud to be Lead Partner Mentor for Aspire Teacher Training. She works alongside colleagues at Sheffield Hallam University and expert mentors across the Trust to recruit and train teachers of the future.
