Richard has worked in education for over 20 years, starting her career as a high school English teacher teaching Years 7-11. Whilst teaching in high school, Richard took on more responsibilities, including becoming a pastoral Head of Year and then leading new GCSE qualifications in Film & Media. After successfully launching a Film & Media department, Richard oversaw the delivery of diplomas across Widnes and Runcorn and became a lead moderator and examiner for the qualification. Richard then became Head of Faculty at a middle school in Staffordshire before having aspirations for senior leadership through the completion of his MA Masters in Educational Leadership qualification. This experience led Richard to become a Deputy Headteacher of a Cheshire-based primary school before taking on his first headship at Hurdsfield Primary School. Over the last two years, Richard has continued the journey of the school to join the Aspire Educational Trust and expanded the Early Years provision through the adoption of the on-site Children's Centre. Richard is very proud of his staff and pupils at Hurdsfield saying that they are 'one big family'.
